We, at VT Entertainment, Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures, and the Jungle Store, are concerned about your right to privacy, and we want you to understand the ways in which we do and do not use the information that you transmit when you visit us online. This statement covers the privacy practices for animaladventures.com (the website for “Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures”), junglestore.com (the website for “Jack Hanna’s Jungle Store”) and vtetv.com (the website for “VT Entertainment”) (collectively, the “Jack Hanna Sites”). Our contact information is set forth below. GENERAL PRIVACY POLICY When you visit any of our websites, you can be assured that any information you share with us will be treated confidentially. What Information We Collect
The Jack Hanna Sites also use “cookies.” Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that are transferred to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser (such as Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer) while you are viewing the website. Cookies enable our system to recognize your browser so that we may collect information about how our sites are used. Passive information gathered may include the date and time of visits, the site pages viewed, time spent at this site, and the sites visited just before and just after this site. Passive information is collected on an “aggregate” basis without any association to a visitor’s personal information so that visitors remain anonymous. We use such passive data to gather information about our visitors and to enhance and design our sites to make them easier, faster, and friendlier to use. For example, cookies help inform the Jack Hanna Sites about how many people visit these sites, when they visit, and how they use these sites. “Session cookies” tell us which areas that a user visits and the amount of time between each page visited. The cookie does not remember any information about you or your computer but rather tells us how long the visitor spent on our sites and which pages received the most traffic. A session cookie recalls only information about your current visit to the site. We do not connect any of this information to your personal information or email address. This information is treated confidentially and will not be shared with anyone outside of the Jack Hanna Sites. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies, through your browser’s settings. Each browser is a little different, so you should check your browser’s “Help” menu to learn the correct way to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify them when they receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. How Information is Protected How the Information Collected on Our Sites is Used and Shared From time to time, we may use personally identifiable information to send you information about Animal Adventures products we believe might be of interest to you. These promotions come from us and not from third parties. We will never share your personally identifiable information with third parties except as noted in the preceding paragraph. From time to time, we may purchase a business or sell one or more of our businesses, in which case your personally identifiable information may be transferred as a part of the purchase or sale. In the event that we purchase a business, the personally identifiable information received with that business will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy, practicable and permissible to do so. In the event that we sell a business, we will require the purchaser to treat your personally identifiable information in the same manner required by this Privacy Policy (including any amendments to this Privacy Policy). In light of this protection, your opt-out choices described in this Privacy Policy will not affect our right to transfer your information to a purchaser in these circumstances. Finally, we may disclose your personally identifiable information to third parties in order to comply with the law and/or law enforcement agencies, to protect our rights in or the safety of our website, or to protect the safety or rights of other users of our websites. The Jungle Store External Links Modifications to our General Privacy Policy A NOTE TO KIDS: A NOTE TO PARENTS ---- PLEASE READ: The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") requires that we inform parents and legal guardians about how we collect, use, and disclose personal information from children under 13 years of age and that we obtain the consent of parents and guardians in order for children under 13 years of age to use certain features of our websites. In our policy, references to “parent(s)” include legal guardians. References to “child” or “children” refer to children under the age of 13. What Information We Collect From Children: From time to time we may request limited personally identifiable information from children for various activities such as our Gadzooks! monthly e-newsletter. If the particular activity involves only a one-time contact from your child (such as submitting a question through our “Ask Jack” area), we will request only that the child provide us with their email address and first name, and immediately after we respond we will delete any email address or other personally identifiable information received. However, if the activity might involve more than one contact with your child (such as for newsletters or contests), we will also request that your child obtain parental consent before contacting us. See Parental Rights, below. At any point, as a parent or guardian, you may request that the Jack Hanna Sites delete your child's information and may prohibit us from any further contact with your child. Additionally, you may review your child's personally identifiable information at any time. See Parental Rights, below. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personally identifiable information from children other than as permitted by law, we will delete the information from our records upon discovery. We will not condition a child’s participation in any online activity on disclosure by children of more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in that activity. If you consent to our collecting personal information about your child as provided below, we may link certain information collected through technology (see the "Information Collected Through Technology" Section of our general Privacy Policy) to that personal information. How We Use Information that we Collect From Children We do not share information collected from children with any third parties except those parties that help us with the internal administration of our websites and our contests. These third parties are prohibited from using such information for any other purpose, and they have agreed to maintain the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the information. If your child is selected as a winner of one of our contests, we will notify you or your child via the email address that your child provided to us. We may publish a winner’s first name and (in some cases) state of residence on the Jack Hanna Sites. Prior to collecting personally identifiable information about a child for our own use or for a use that might result in the disclosure of the child’s information to third parties on the Internet, we require a parent’s name and consent. See Parental Rights, below. Finally, we may disclose your child's personally identifiable information to third parties in order to comply with the law and/or law enforcement agencies, to protect our rights in or the safety of our website, or to protect the safety or rights of other users of our websites. Parental Rights You may provide consent to our collection of information by completing and signing the parental permission forms that we require for participation in all contests that require us to collect personal information, and returning the forms to us via postal mail or via fax, at our address or fax number listed below. These permission forms are located at the site of the contest; for instance, permission forms for entry into our Art Gallery contest can be found by following the links to submit art in the Art Gallery contest. By withholding your permission, you have the opportunity to refuse to permit further contact with the child. In addition, you may contact us at any time via email, phone, or fax and require the deletion of information we may have collected in the past. At any time, you can refuse to permit us to collect further personal information from your child and can request that any personal information that we have collected be deleted from our records. Parents can contact our customer service department to access, change, or delete the personal information that we have collected from their child by contacting us by phone, mail, or fax, or through our Contact Us page. Please include both the child’s and the parent’s email address in the email so that we can better assist you with your inquiry or request. We want you to be comfortable with your child’s participation at the Jack Hanna Sites. Therefore, you may contact Jack Hanna Sites at any time regarding privacy questions or concerns, or to request a review of the personally identifiable information that we have collected from your child. We will take steps to ensure that any person contacting us for a child's information is that child's parent or guardian.
