We, at VT Entertainment, Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures, and the Jungle Store, are concerned about your right to privacy, and we want you to understand the ways in which we do and do not use the information that you transmit when you visit us online.  This statement covers the privacy practices for animaladventures.com (the website for “Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures”), junglestore.com (the website for “Jack Hanna’s Jungle Store”) and vtetv.com (the website for “VT Entertainment”) (collectively, the “Jack Hanna Sites”).  Our contact information is set forth below.

GENERAL PRIVACY POLICY
This section of our Privacy Policy relates to all of the Jack Hanna Sites.  To review our Kids Privacy Policy, please see the special section below.

When you visit any of our websites, you can be assured that any information you share with us will be treated confidentially.

What Information We Collect
The information gathered by the Jack Hanna Sites falls into two categories: (1) personally identifiable information voluntarily supplied by visitors to our websites and (2) non-personally identifiable information routinely gathered passively as visitors navigate through our sites.

Information that Visitors Provide to Us
Much of the personally identifiable information that we receive comes directly from visitors who are interested in purchasing various products from our Jungle Store site, such as videos, clothing and novelties, toys and activities, books, and art, along with utilizing services such as the Jack Hanna e-newsletter, Gadzooks!  Typically, this information might include the visitor’s name, postal address, email address, and telephone number.  We also may collect other types of information such as gender, age, number of children, and personal interests, which we may associate with personally identifiable information.  If you purchase products or services from us, we will note the type of services or products ordered or purchased, and the date of the order or purchase.  We collect additional personal information when you visit various areas of our websites, and when you participate in activities on our websites, such as sweepstakes, contests, games, and promotional offers.

Information Collected Through Technology
We collect non-personally identifiable information passively through technology to make the Jack Hanna Sites more interesting and useful.  For instance, when people visit our sites, we collect the visitor’s IP (Internet Protocol) address, which often is associated with the portal through which the visitor enters the Internet, such as their ISP (Internet Service Provider).  Standing alone, your IP address is not personally identifiable.  At times, we also may use IP addresses to collect information regarding the frequency with which people visit various areas of our sites.  We do not link such data with any personal information.  Third parties that help us internally with the administration of our websites may have access to this non-personally identifiable data.  However, those parties are required to keep such information confidential.

The Jack Hanna Sites also use “cookies.”  Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that are transferred to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser (such as Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer) while you are viewing the website.  Cookies enable our system to recognize your browser so that we may collect information about how our sites are used.  Passive information gathered may include the date and time of visits, the site pages viewed, time spent at this site, and the sites visited just before and just after this site.  Passive information is collected on an “aggregate” basis without any association to a visitor’s personal information so that visitors remain anonymous.

We use such passive data to gather information about our visitors and to enhance and design our sites to make them easier, faster, and friendlier to use.  For example, cookies help inform the Jack Hanna Sites about how many people visit these sites, when they visit, and how they use these sites.  “Session cookies” tell us which areas that a user visits and the amount of time between each page visited.  The cookie does not remember any information about you or your computer but rather tells us how long the visitor spent on our sites and which pages received the most traffic.  A session cookie recalls only information about your current visit to the site.  We do not connect any of this information to your personal information or email address.  This information is treated confidentially and will not be shared with anyone outside of the Jack Hanna Sites.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies, through your browser’s settings.  Each browser is a little different, so you should check your browser’s “Help” menu to learn the correct way to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify them when they receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether.

How Information is Protected
We seek to safeguard the information that you provide.  When placing online orders from JungleStore.com, orders are processed using a secure server which protects our customers’ billing information.  In addition, subscription information for our newsletter Gadzooks! is gathered in a secure way and is protected for storage within a Jack Hanna Site-controlled database that keeps the data private and confidential between your computer and the Jack Hanna Sites.  This technology makes it safe to transmit your credit card number over the internet.  Look for two security icons:  the “s” after “http” in the address line and the “lock” icon typically found on the top menu bar and bottom status bar of browsers such as Netscape or in Internet Explorer.  Note, however, that as effective as encryption technology is, no security system is completely impenetrable, so we cannot guarantee the absolute security of our database, nor can we guarantee that information you supply won't be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet.

How the Information Collected on Our Sites is Used and Shared
The information that you provide us, including your email address, generally will not be shared with any third parties.  We disclose customer information (i.e., name, address, telephone number, email address, etc.) as required by law or government agency, to verify billing information with the customer’s financial institution, or to assist in credit card fraud detection.  If you wish to be deleted from our mailing list or need more information about the mailing list, you may email us through our Contact Us page.

From time to time, we may use personally identifiable information to send you information about Animal Adventures products we believe might be of interest to you.  These promotions come from us and not from third parties. We will never share your personally identifiable information with third parties except as noted in the preceding paragraph.

From time to time, we may purchase a business or sell one or more of our businesses, in which case your personally identifiable information may be transferred as a part of the purchase or sale.  In the event that we purchase a business, the personally identifiable information received with that business will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy, practicable and permissible to do so.  In the event that we sell a business, we will require the purchaser to treat your personally identifiable information in the same manner required by this Privacy Policy (including any amendments to this Privacy Policy).  In light of this protection, your opt-out choices described in this Privacy Policy will not affect our right to transfer your information to a purchaser in these circumstances.

Finally, we may disclose your personally identifiable information to third parties in order to comply with the law and/or law enforcement agencies, to protect our rights in or the safety of our website, or to protect the safety or rights of other users of our websites.

The Jungle Store
The Jack Hanna Sites know that the confidentiality of purchase-related information is of special concern to visitors who purchase items through JungleStore.com.  We are committed to safeguarding this information. We will not share any personally identifiable information (such as your name, address, telephone number, or credit card information) that you provide us when you make a purchase through JungleStore.com with any other company, except where necessary to fulfill the order.  Note that, for security reasons, upon the completion of any purchases at the Jungle Store, we do not save your credit card number; you must type the credit card number each time you make a purchase.

External Links
Some areas of our sites -- including, but not limited to, the Travel section and the contacts portions of the detail pages for individual Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures episodes -- provide visitors with direct links to websites that are not owned or maintained by us and are hence not under our control.  Note that we do not control the privacy practices of such other websites.  Once you leave our servers, the use of any information that you provide is governed by the privacy policy of the operator of the site that you are visiting.  If you provide information in the course of obtaining products or services through our site, use of any information you provide may be governed by the privacy policy of the provider of those products or services.  These parties may have privacy policies and practices that differ from ours.  If you cannot find the privacy policy of any of these sites via a link from the site's homepage, you should contact that site directly for more information.

Modifications to our General Privacy Policy
The Web is an evolving medium, and we may change our Privacy Policy from time to time.  In the event that we do change our Privacy Policy, we will post the revised Policy here.  Of course, our use of information gathered while the current Policy is in effect will always be consistent with the current Policy, even if we change that Policy later.  Thank you for making the Jack Hanna Sites a part of your online experience!

KIDS PRIVACY POLICY:

A NOTE TO KIDS:
YOU MUST GET PERMISSION FROM YOUR PARENTS BEFORE SENDING ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOURSELF (SUCH AS YOUR NAME OR YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS) TO US OVER THE INTERNET.

A NOTE TO PARENTS ---- PLEASE READ:
This section of the privacy policy explains our information collection and use practices online for children under the age of 13, including what we do with the information that we collect and with whom we share that information.  We ask that you take the time to review our policy to familiarize yourself with how we collect and use information from children, and to learn how you can review or request that we delete your child's information.  If you ever have any questions or concerns about this policy, please contact us as provided below or at our Contact Us page.

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") requires that we inform parents and legal guardians about how we collect, use, and disclose personal information from children under 13 years of age and that we obtain the consent of parents and guardians in order for children under 13 years of age to use certain features of our websites.  In our policy, references to “parent(s)” include legal guardians.  References to “child” or “children” refer to children under the age of 13.

What Information We Collect From Children:
The Jack Hanna Sites generally limit the collection of information from children to the minimal amount of information necessary for children to participate in the activities offered on our sites, without having to provide personally identifiable information.  For example, if a child wants to submit artwork or an animal photograph to be posted on our “Art Gallery” area, the child will be identified at that area only by first name and state of residence. With Art Gallery submissions, we require an email address so that we may contact you or your child to notify the winners. We further require street addresses so that we may send prizes to the winners. All of this information is requested on a form that you or your child may print from the website and which must accompany any submission. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS FORM REQUIRES A PARENTAL SIGNATURE FOR CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13. In this way, we insure that personal information is submitted and approved by you, the parent, instead of by your child.

From time to time we may request limited personally identifiable information from children for various activities such as our Gadzooks! monthly e-newsletter.  If the particular activity involves only a one-time contact from your child (such as submitting a question through our “Ask Jack” area), we will request only that the child provide us with their email address and first name, and immediately after we respond we will delete any email address or other personally identifiable information received.  However, if the activity might involve more than one contact with your child (such as for newsletters or contests), we will also request that your child obtain parental consent before contacting us.  See Parental Rights, below.

At any point, as a parent or guardian, you may request that the Jack Hanna Sites delete your child's information and may prohibit us from any further contact with your child. Additionally, you may review your child's personally identifiable information at any time.  See Parental Rights, below.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personally identifiable information from children other than as permitted by law, we will delete the information from our records upon discovery.

We will not condition a child’s participation in any online activity on disclosure by children of more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in that activity.

If you consent to our collecting personal information about your child as provided below, we may link certain information collected through technology (see the "Information Collected Through Technology" Section of our general Privacy Policy) to that personal information.

How We Use Information that we Collect From Children
When we collect personally identifiable information from children, we will use that information only for the express purpose for which it was collected.  For example, if your child enters an art contest, we will only use your child's email address to enter the child in the contest and to notify you or your child if he or she is a winner.  The information will not be used for any other purpose, and the information will be deleted after the contest or other activity has been completed.

We do not share information collected from children with any third parties except those parties that help us with the internal administration of our websites and our contests.  These third parties are prohibited from using such information for any other purpose, and they have agreed to maintain the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the information.

If your child is selected as a winner of one of our contests, we will notify you or your child via the email address that your child provided to us. We may publish a winner’s first name and (in some cases) state of residence on the Jack Hanna Sites.

Prior to collecting personally identifiable information about a child for our own use or for a use that might result in the disclosure of the child’s information to third parties on the Internet, we require a parent’s name and consent.  See Parental Rights, below.

Finally, we may disclose your child's personally identifiable information to third parties in order to comply with the law and/or law enforcement agencies, to protect our rights in or the safety of our website, or to protect the safety or rights of other users of our websites.

Parental Rights
We require parental consent before children participate in any activity on our sites which will require us to collect personal information. We do not collect personal information other than that which is required for the child to participate in the activity and/or receive a prize for his or her participation.

You may provide consent to our collection of information by completing and signing the parental permission forms that we require for participation in all contests that require us to collect personal information, and returning the forms to us via postal mail or via fax, at our address or fax number listed below.  These permission forms are located at the site of the contest; for instance, permission forms for entry into our Art Gallery contest can be found by following the links to submit art in the Art Gallery contest. By withholding your permission, you have the opportunity to refuse to permit further contact with the child. In addition, you may contact us at any time via email, phone, or fax and require the deletion of information we may have collected in the past.

At any time, you can refuse to permit us to collect further personal information from your child and can request that any personal information that we have collected be deleted from our records.  Parents can contact our customer service department to access, change, or delete the personal information that we have collected from their child  by contacting us by phone, mail, or fax, or through our Contact Us page.  Please include both the child’s and the parent’s email address in the email so that we can better assist you with your inquiry or request.

We want you to be comfortable with your child’s participation at the Jack Hanna Sites.  Therefore, you may contact Jack Hanna Sites at any time regarding privacy questions or concerns, or to request a review of the personally identifiable information that we have collected from your child.  We will take steps to ensure that any person contacting us for a child's information is that child's parent or guardian.

Modifications to Our Privacy Policy for Children
The Jack Hanna Sites reserve the right to modify our Privacy Policy for children at any time.  If we do so, we will post a prominent notice on the main page of www.animaladventures.com to inform parents that our policy has changed.
