Frequently Asked Questions

I am interested in obtaining more information about various animals. I am doing a research project and all the information I can gather would be helpful. Can you help me with this?

For animal research, I can suggest two good sources. College libraries are great! If you are near a moderate-to-large university, they may have a special library for zoology. This is where most researchers begin when they start a project -- it is called a "literature review." They pore over the scientific journals looking for anything related to the animals they are studying.

This way, you can discover if anyone else has ever done similar work and possibly get some advice at the same time. Additionally, citing other's work in your project may support it and give it more credibility! Other than the library, try the Internet. Many researchers and nonprofit conservation groups have great sites which you can communicate with. Since there are so many, try "searching" under your topic of interest. Happy surfing!
